Character actor Tom Aldredge has died, another memorable face.

I remember him on a lot of TV usually with a beard.

He was actually a pretty good character actor. First time I saw him in one of Jack Webb's "Dragnet 1987" as a con artist attemping to get people to join NALE (National Association of Law Enforcement) who got caught in the act by Joe Friday. He was also the senator in "Godfather II." He was in a lot more movies and guest-starred in many TV series.

He also played a character that was supposed to be Cowboys head coach Tom Landry in the thinly veiled sendup of them and pro football in "North Dallas Forty..."

In another memorable Dragnet role, he played an ex-con burglar who keep pulling jobs so he could be sent back up! He was the catcher for the prison baseball team, and a new, young pitcher was in the joint, and he wanted to "bring him along" with his training!!

Rest in Peace to them all. G.D. Spradlin came to my ttention in a good James Garner movie called: Tank. I think he was the Sheriff who was going nuts trying to stop Garner and Civilian Sherman Tank crew .
