Just had to share this with you folks. I went to an auction today, looking specifically for items to put in our local community museum. I went through a ton of old newspapers, photos, and scrapbooks, and lo and behold, in one of the scrapbooks I found an old cardboard theater fan (the kind they used to give patrons long before they had air conditioning), and it had an advertisement printed on it for the film that was currently showing. The film was 1931's ARIZONA starring John Wayne and Laura LaPlante! I almost wet myself! Then it got better. The old guy who had all this stuff up for auction saw me clutching my heart as I looked at it, and he walked up and asked if I wanted it. I told him I sure did, so he gave it to me! I couldn't believe it! (maybe I should go play the lottery while my luck still holds!)
I also recently came across a copy of an old Department of Defense film called "Patriotism: Have it your way" from 1978, with John Wayne in it as the narrator, and he appears in it as well.
