I have always been interested in one of John Wayne's sons. He was in several of his movies, Patrick Wayne i think was his name. I was wondering if anyone would know if he was was ever in his own movie? I thought he was a handsome guy and could act pretty well too. Also I was wondering if he was still alive today?
Also wasnt Michael Morrison the boxer John Waynes son?
I saw on a website the names of all his children and they were all "Wayne's", no Morrisons. Which apparently means that John Wayne had his name legaly changed from Marion Morrison.
    Thanks for any info!

Tommy Morrison is someone you might be talking about. He is 6' 2" (1.88 m). He's a heavyweight professional boxer from Jay, Oklahoma, who made national news Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, when he announced that he is HIV positive. He was suspended from worldwide boxing when he tested positive prior to a boxing match against Arthur Weathers in Las Vegas. He said he plans to pursue AIDS awreness activities.

He is the grandnephew of John Wayne.

He won the WBO Boxing Championship from George Foreman in 1993. He lost the championship to Michael Bennt.

Don't know about the children who has the last name Wayne.

Aw THANKS Hondo ! That was excatly what I was looking for !
I see Patrick was in a lot of movies without his father, and I'm glad to see he is still alive.
I'll have to get out my copy of Young Guns, i never realized he was Pat Garret!

As for the Tommy the boxer, yes he is the one I was thinking about, apparently I was confused , Thanks for the info once again !

P.S. As for the "Waynes" reference in my previous post I meant their last name of Wayne.

    Children:
Michael Wayne. Born November 23, 1934.
Toni Wayne. Born 1936 / Died Dec. 2000
Patrick Wayne. Born July 15, 1939.
    Melinda Wayne. Born 1940.
    Aissa Wayne. Born 1956.
    John Ethan Wayne. Born 1962.
    Marisa Wayne. Born 1966.

I found this info on a website. I had expected them to have the last name of Morrison for some reason LOL .

Yes, Patrick is the oldest living child of Duke, but he had two older sibblings. His sister Tori died a year ago around Christmas to cancer. The sister Melinda runs John Wayne Enterprises, which was agreed with the remaining members of Duke's children.

Batjac is a production company John Wayne started after the Wayne Fellows Production folded in the 1950's. Duke started his own production company which produced a lot of his movies since, and other movies as well. Right now Batjac has the rights to movies of Duke and is a part of John Wayne Enterprises.

There are other posts here talking about Batjac, and the movies. Just go to the search word and type Batjac, that will take you to the posts about that.

    Cheers, Hondo B)

    Talking

Even though his children and his wives all took the name of Wayne, I remember reading that he never legally changed his name. He even commented that he never got use to answering to the name John. And if it is true that he never legalized the name, how can the others legally use it? Not that it matters, but just curious. He was asked that by Barbara Walters in his very last TV interview:
"You never changed it, didn't you?"
    "No, it's Marion Michael Morrison."
    "Why?"
"I can pay taxes as Marion Michael Morrison as well as John Wayne."

    Resurrection time again -

I always liked Patrick Wayne's portrayals. His only starring role, as best I can recall, was in the Harryhausen Sinbad picture "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger," where one of his co-stars was Tyrone Power's daughter Taryn Power.
Patrick never had the carisma his father had, which is why he never had the star reputation.
He did appear in a dinner theater production (almost 20 years ago - gosh!) of "Mr. Roberts" playing the Henry Fonda role from the movie. Its kind of ironic that he had a bit part in the movie version so many years ago. But then it started out as a John Ford operation.
Does anyone know what Patrick is doing these days? Does he have any involvement with the John Wayne estate or enterprises?

    Cheers - Jay :)

I've been kinda wondering about what the Wayne children have been up to these days too.

One thing not mentioned that Patrick Wayne did was at least one episode of MacGyver. I think he was a race car driver in it.

I do know that Patrick Wayne is the Chairman of the John Wayne Cancer Institute. Ethan Wayne is also a Director of the John Wayne Cancer Institute and General Partner of Wayne Enterprises.
